The Beloved Daughter: The Dream Episode

Updated: Jul 9, 2023

It was a hot and sunny Saturday morning , the birds were chirping, the cocks were crowing, the sunshine staring through the window, the beloved daughter was sleeping soundly like an angel.

Suddenly, she got up and rushed towards me with a tight hug. She was shivering, tears rolling down her cheeks. And I said “ Sorry baby! What happened? Was it a nightmare?” The beloved daughter replied “Mum I dreamt that I was adopted”, “it was the biggest nightmare of my life” she added. I hugged her tight and said “ Don’t worry beautiful, it was just a dream and an impossible one to come through Insha-Allah.

The quote by the famous Ingrid Ricks crossed my mind. The quote goes this way; “Do you know how lucky you are to have a daughter who loves you so much? The beloved daughter went ahead to fetch for a guitar and dedicated a beautiful song (freestyle) to Mom. The lines of the song ; My mum is the best, She saved me, she’s always saved me. She makes me smile when I’m sad, and that’s why she’s the best, nobody can replace her. She’s only mine, even if someone tries to adopt me, there’s nothing they can do. I can’t do without her, just stay with me and I’ll be happy, that’s why, that’s why, that’s why she’s the best I’ve ever seen and that’s why I believe in my self. I believe that she’s only mine. I don’t believe anybody can take her away from me , she’s only mine. I don’t care what happens to me, I just want her to stay with me , with me, with me.

And Mum bursted into happy tears and said “ this is the best gift I have ever received in my life”

I hereby dedicate this beautiful poem to the beloved daughter;

She is a beautiful daughter,

She is a loving daughter,

She is a caring daughter,

She is a daughter like no other,

She is my life,

She is my sunshine

She is my day so bright,️

With her in my life, everything is so perfect and right

I have to thank Allah for the gift of a beautiful daughter in my life,

She is my daughter,

She is Habeeba Umar Yakubu.

In the words of Oprah Winfrey “We honor both the mothers whose shoulders we’ve stood on and the daughters who will one day stand tall on ours.”
